Russia to Ponder on Pullout from ISS after Technical Inspection

Russia will carry out a technical inspection of the ISS and will make a decision on withdrawing from the project since 2025. The decision will get conveyed to its foreign partners as soon as it comes to a conclusion.  According to Russia’s Deputy Minister Yuri Borisov’s administration, the timeframe of the station’s operations has expired and its condition still remains a lot to be evaluated and desired.

“Lately, reports about technical malfunctions have been coming more often. In order to avoid any risks in case of accidents, it’s necessary to carry out a technical inspection of the station. After this, a decision should be made.”

The issue of continuing participation of Russia in the ISS project was discussed at a meeting on space with Russian president Vladimir Putin on April 24. The Russian authorities have decided on conducting an inspection before further committing themselves to the project. The decision is astonishing as no other nation has sought inspection in recent times. It is validating as we have seen the borderline ties between the US and Russia.

The foreign partners will be certifiably notified about the withdrawal from the ISS since 2025. Borisov was quoted saying further key points on the topic in Moscow.Kremlin. Putin program on Rossiya-1 TV channel. There would be no delay from the Russian side to announce the decision with the partners as soon as talks are held between the two conglomerates. It is signifying as it would help in better understanding or looking for alternatives for the project being conducted on the ISS. The partners will begin on terms and forms of cooperation after 2024 after a decision gets made out after convincing conclusions and meetings about the same.
