Covid-19 expected to stay forever doctor

After more than a year has passed in this pandemic, people are very eager to return to normal life, just like it was before the pandemic. But according to Dr. Peter Chin-Hong, an infectious disease expert at the University of California at San Francisco School of Medicine, Covid-19 may never go away. “Until vaccine equity is established, until people are not hesitant about the vaccine, this won’t go away,” he further added. This is attributed to the nature of the Covid-19 virus. The virus was transferred from animals to humans, and it is impossible to vaccinate animal carriers.

That is why the virus will continue to circulate, potentially indefinitely. Covid-19 isn’t like other infectious diseases like smallpox. This is a very scientific approach. Chin-Hong does believe that life will return to “almost normal” eventually. He expects we’ll “feel relief regionally,” and develop regional herd immunity.

Chin-Hong says that measles provides a good example. A lot of people are immunized against it, but not everyone. That means there will still be outbreaks occasionally when someone travels from elsewherand gets exposure to a large group of people who are not vaccinated against the disease.

Hence, it is being advised by the doctors to stay indoors and boost your immunity. This pandemic has changed the life of every industry and every individual. There is hardly any community that is not affected by this deadly virus.
